What the Heck is gRPC!

Abstract:
gRPC is a modern open source high performance RPC framework that can run in any environment. With this new framework, should you be looking at this interesting option when building your own APIs or connecting your systems?

Speaker Bio:
Shawn Wildermuth has been tinkering with computers and software since he got a Vic-20 back in the early ‘80s. As a Microsoft MVP since 2003, he’s also involved with Microsoft as an ASP.NET Insider and ClientDev Insider. You may have taken one of his more than twenty courses on Pluralsight (http://shawnw.me/psauthor). He’s authored eight books and innumerable articles on software development. You can also see him at one of the local and international conferences he’s spoken at including TechEd, Oredev, SDC, NDC, VSLive, DevIntersection, MIX, Devteach, DevConnections and Dev Reach. Secrets of a Blazor Component Artisan

Abstract:
In this session we’ll jump past hello world and focus on Blazor’s Razor Component architecture. We’ll learn component design concepts and best practices including: event handling, attribute splatting, state management, and component libraries. Through example we’ll understand the tools and techniques from one of the top Blazor community contributors and Microsoft MVP, Ed Charbeneau.

Speaker Bio:
Ed is a Microsoft MVP and an international speaker, writer, online influencer, a Developer Advocate for Progress, and expert on all things web development. Ed enjoys geeking out to cool new tech, brainstorming about future technology, and admiring great design. Ed has shared his insights, experiences, and advice around collaboration, knowledge management, social computing, and training at many industry events around the United States. What’s New in C# 9

Abstract:
C# is an open-source, mature object oriented language, used by millions of .NET developers, yet its evolution is still underway. In this session, we’ll cover the latest features that have been added to C# 9.0 and how they work in detail so you’ll know when to use them effectively in your new .NET projects. You’ll also see the direction C# may be going with future versions of C#.

Speaker Bio:
Jason Bock is a Developer Advocate at Quicken Loans and a Microsoft MVP (C#). He has over 25 years of experience working on a number of business applications using a diverse set of frameworks and languages. He is the author of “.NET Development Using the Compiler API”, “Metaprogramming in .NET”, and “Applied .NET Attributes”. He has written numerous articles on software development issues and has presented at a number of conferences and user groups. He is a leader of the Twin Cities Code Camp (http://www.twincitiescodecamp.com). Jason holds a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Marquette University.
