Vision & Mission

Apps are everywhere and software is driving modern economies like never before. Today’s developers make apps that run on variety of devices across platforms and human-computer interactions are getting redefined. Apps are getting smarter, increasingly cloud-powered and more inclusive for everyone in our society. It is a great time to be a developer and we get to share/learn from each other.

Our UG had its origins as the Central Ohio Windows Phone User Group – back when new mobile platforms were all the rage. As Windows evolved to cover all devices with a single OS, so did we as The Windows Developer User Group. As modern developers embraced cross-platform solutions and catered to various platforms/form factors, we rediscovered ourselves as the Columbus App Dev User Group – this stood test of time for some time.

While a global pandemic upended our lives, the software developer community learnt new ways to connect and the right tools made sharing our passions easier. We now meet entirely online and allow the internet to make the world a smaller place – welcome to the Global App Dev User Group.

We cater to a vibrant and diverse developer community from all around the world – everyone is welcome, from wherever you are. We talk about all things modern apps need across platforms – architecture, tooling, data, design, security and technical ingenuity. We invite awesome speakers and geek out over technology & the human side of software development.

That’s it about us .. come join us for our monthly meetups.
