Ahoy!

The August 2017 Meetup of The Windows Developer User Group is scheduled for Aug 21st from 6-8 PM @ Improving Ohio Office. Please see details below & kindly RSVP.

Topic:
Introduction to Bot Frameworks!

Abstract:
Ever interact with a chat bot? Chances are you have, from fancy virtual assistants to simple helpers within chat apps. This session will give a brief overview of bots and their advantages as a form of user interaction. Then we’ll talk about the Microsoft Bot Framework and how it makes it easier than ever to develop useful bots for a wide variety of platforms. You’ll learn about how to get started and where to go to learn more – gaining a little exposure to advanced concepts that facilitate evolutionary improvements over bots you might have used before. When we’re done, you’ll have a good idea of what it will take to build a bot of your own and share it with the world.

Speaker Bio:
Mark has been programming since his grandfather presented him with a TRS 80 but went pro in 1996 after teaching himself web development instead of assigned studies in college. After building sites for major banks and global consumer product brands he became webmaster for a global corporation. After three years of JAVA he opted to finish his degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from The Ohio State University. Since then he’s built software in the real-estate, online education, and telecommunications sectors while running for public office at local, state, and federal levels. When he’s not coding he enjoys model railroading, amateur radio, and riding a wind-powered electric bike to work.
